Kastner's Garage

Conceived over a rather splendid dinner between advertising luminary Johannes Kastner and classic car aficionado Edward Gibson, Kastner's Garage opened its doors in June 2010.

Born of a true passion for classic automobiles rather than a purely business standpoint, Kastner's Garage strives to offer some of the finest collector vehicles available, combined with unparalleled and experienced service.

Our stylish showroom is conveniently located just two miles north of LAX in the heart of Playa Vista, the new technology and media capital of California.

We are constantly searching for new inventory so if you do not see that which you are looking for or if you have a classic that you are looking to sell, please let us know.

We are happy to assist with any and all aspects of your classic purchase, including financing options and domestic and international shipping.

Edward Gibson

Born and raised in London, England, Edward has had a deeply engrained passion for classic cars since boyhood.

Having operated a sports car repair and restoration business in England, he moved to Los Angeles in the late eighties.

He immediately joined European Car Service, a widely renowned establishment specializing in the service, repair and restoration of high-end European sports cars, as service manager. Here he not only diagnosed and repaired the vehicles, but oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day operations.

After six great years, he sought new challenges and ventured to open his own restoration shop in Marina Del Rey. It was a huge success, but Edward finally became a little weary of the constant split knuckles and dirt under his fingernails.

So, in 1998, joined forces with the renowned Heritage Classics Motor Car Company of Beverly Hills and switched his predominant focus to selling cars rather than fixing them. He quickly became the sales manager and, with a clientele ranging from major collectors to movie stars, the company enjoyed record sales during his 11-year tenure.

Finally, the tremendous opportunity for greater autonomy and further challenge lured him to his current position as managing director of Kastner's Garage.

Despite his oft-quoth protestations to the contrary, he still enjoys keeping his hand in 'spinning wrenches' from time to time, and also participates in numerous classic events and rallies.
