Since its introduction in 1963, the 911 was an instant classic. Through constant evolvement, it remained at the forefront of technology but never strayed from its roots, hence its perennial popularity. With the launch of the SC in 1978, it reached a new high. The displacement was increased to 3.0 litres and the crankcase changed from magnesium to aluminium. Also, the brakes were upgraded with servo-assistance. Consequently, performance was significantly improved in addition to durability & driveability. As a result, they are widely regarded as the most reliable 911 produced.
This car was delivered new to Europe but is believed to have been brought to the States shortly thereafter. Finished in the rare (two year only), special order, period colour of Casablanca Beige Metallic with tan interior, the car presents extremely well. The factory sunroof operates faultlessly as do the other electrics. The engine is extremely strong, with no smoke or rattles, the transmission shifts perfectly and the car drives superbly. The immaculate Fuchs 7 and 8 inch alloys are freshly shod with new rubber and the original handbook, spare wheel & tools are all present.
An excellent opportunity to enter the amazing world of 911s with a great example of their most robust offering.
